The Ruqyah Centre has been established with the intention of serving the needs of the Muslim community. Our aim is to help, counsel and provide the prophetic treatment known as ruqyah from the authentic source of Qur'an and Sunnah.

Ruqyah in Islam is the recitation of Qur'an, seeking refuge and remembrance and supplications used as a means of treating sickness and other aliments.

4. Promoting professionalism and accountability in the Ruqyah field, to safeguard public from innovation, extortion and mistreatment.

Method

Our method is primarily using recital of the Qur'an and using prophetic medicine prescribed in and derived from the hadith and sunnah to diagnose those facing spiritual and mental ailments. This can be alongside or in alternative to conventional medical and psychological treatment.

Diagnosis of the patient wil be made via questions, symptoms and mainly recitation from the Qur'an to determine whether the patient is suffering from jinn affliction, sihr (magic) evil eye/hasad or not.

Patients shall be signposted to medical and other professionals where ruqyah is not required or ruqyah will be an additional treatment alongside conventional treatment

We book appointments case by case. No fixed number of sessions will be stipulated upon patients in advance.

Yes. Surah Al-Falaq, An-Naas, and Ayat al-Kursi are prescribed for protection. The Prophet ﷺ performed Ruqyah and allowed his companions to do so.

Brief Self Ruqyah (Step-by-Step)

1.⁠ ⁠Begin with Cleanliness

  • Make wudu if possible.
  • Sit somewhere quiet and clean.

2.⁠ ⁠Set Your Intention (Niyyah)

In your heart, intend that you are doing ruqyah for:

  • protection
  • healing
  • relief from distress
  • removal of sihr, ayn, or waswas (if applicable)

3.⁠ ⁠Start with Opening Supplications
Say:

  • Bismillah
  • Astaghfirullah (seeking forgiveness softens the heart)
  • Durood/Salawat on the Prophet ﷺ
    ("Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad…")

4.⁠ ⁠Recite the Main Ruqyah Verses

Recite each one over yourself. After each recitation, blow/dry spiting lightly into your hands and wipe over your body.

Ruqyah Surahs

  • Surah Al-Fatiha (7 times recommended)
  • Ayat-ul-Kursi
  • Last 2 verses of Surah Al-Baqarah
  • Surah Ikhlas
  • Surah Falaq
  • Surah Nas (Ikhlas–Falaq–Nas can be recited 3 times each.)

5.⁠ ⁠Add Ruqyah Duas the Prophet ﷺ taught

You can recite:

  • “Bismillah” (three times)
  • “A’udhu bi’izzatillahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir”
    (recite 7 times while placing your hand on the painful area)
  • “A’ūdhu bi kalimātillāhi at-tāmmāti min sharri mā khalaq”
  • “Allahumma adhhib al-ba’sa rabban-nās, ishfi anta ash-shāfi, lā shifā’a illā shifā’uk, shifā’an lā yughadiru saqama.”

Yes. The Prophet ﷺ used Ruqyah on his grandchildren. Parents can recite and blow gently over the child.

It may bring comfort and calmness, but active recitation (self-read or in-person Ruqyah) is generally more effective.

Yes. It is permissible to recite Qur’an for healing non-Muslims as long as it is done respectfully and with their consent.
